Lowe Sticking Around on Brothers & Sisters

Rob Lowe (“The West Wing”) extends his role on the ABC Television Network’s “Brothers & Sisters” as a special guest star through the show’s freshman season. Lowe plays conservative Senator Robert McCallister, with whom Kitty Walker has recently formed an unorthodox professional and potentially romantic relationship. The series returns to the ABC Television Network with original episodes this Sunday, January 7 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET).

The Emmy-nominated Lowe played Sam Seaborn in NBC’s award-winning drama series, “The West Wing.” He most recently starred in the hit satire Thank You for Smoking and the upcoming thriller, Stir of Echoes: The Homecoming. He made his feature film debut in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Outsiders, and later went on to star in such other popular dramas as St. Elmos Fire, About Last Night and Bad Influence, as well as in the blockbuster comedies Wayne’s World, Tommy Boy and Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, among many others. His other television credits include “A Perfect Day,” “Beach Girls,” “Salem’s Lot,” “The Christmas Shoes” and “The Stand,” and he produced the series “The Lyon’s Den” and “Dr. Vegas.”

On November 19, when Rob Lowe first appeared on the series, “Brothers & Sisters” equaled its highest Adult 18-49 rating since its debut telecast (on 9/24/06), while posting series highs with Men 18-49 and Men 25-54.

“Brothers & Sisters” stars Calista Flockhart as Kitty, Rachel Griffiths as Sarah, Sally Field as Nora Holden, Ron Rifkin as Saul Holden, Patricia Wettig as Holly, Balthazar Getty as Thomas, Dave Annable as Justin, Matthew Rhys as Kevin, John Pyper-Ferguson as Joe and Sarah Jane Morris as Julia.
