Missing Crown Prince Episode 1 spoilers: Suho is kidnapped

In Missing Crown Prince episode 1, Crown Prince Lee Gon (Suho) goes missing when a few bandits attack the palace. He wanders the town with his half-brother, Grand Prince Do-Sung (Kim Min-Kyu), to find out details about their enemies. When he returns home, the king is furious, but Queen Dowager Min Soo-Ryun calms him down and proposes a solution. She suggests the crown prince’s wedding to royal physician Choi Sang-Rok’s daughter, Choi Myung-Yoon (Hong Ye-Ji).

The next day, Myung-Yoon is introduced as a savage and fearless lady who doesn’t shy away from physically fighting goons. His father tells her that she should stop practicing medicine as she has been chosen to be the Crown Princess. While she is unhappy with the decision, she is worried about Sang-Rok doing something shady about her curse.

Meanwhile, Lee Gon comes across a female child’s corpse in the royal pond. She is a maid under Queen Dowager Min Soo-Ryun, and hence, he finds it suspicious that no one wants to know the real cause of her death. Later, an anonymous tip leaves him in shock when he catches Soo-Ryun in a romantic relationship with a man. A piece of evidence reveals that the man is one of the royal physicians.

Lee Gon plans to meet Sang-Rok in private, but someone spikes his drink and kidnaps him.

However, Myung-Yoon wakes up and decides to help the man next to her. She disguises herself as her maid and helps him escape from her house. Moreover, she also doesn’t know that he is the crown prince.

When he asks her to drop him near the palace, she warns him not to go inside, claiming he might be in danger. In the palace, Queen Dowager Soo-Ryun orders the king to kill Lee Gon as the latter assumes he knows her secret.
