The episode starts by introducing New Gate, the most popular MMORPG. The game gives all its players a chance to be whatever they want. However, the beloved game has turned into a death game. To make matters worse, they could not log out, a scene similar to that of sword art online.
Shin, the top-ranked player, continued to fight for a chance to save everyone and return home. He confronted the boss, and after some heavy blows, he was able to defeat it, giving everyone a chance to log out. To ensure everyone returned safely, he stayed behind until he was the last one. Finally, as he tried to log out, he was transported 500 years into the future.
Upon arriving in the future, he notices that his inventory is still safe, and his skills are even better than before he confronted the boss. He uses a talisman to find his way to his old hideout. However, he sees an elf girl being dragged out by some humans, asking for Schnee Raizar’s whereabouts. Shin rescues the girl, and she introduces herself as Tiera, a student of Shin’s former ally, Schnee Raizar.
Shin sees past Schnee’s glamour spell, which hid Tiera’s identity as a dark-haired elf. The reason for the dark hair was a curse that was laid on her when she was young. He analyzes the curse, telling her he can cure it. He is able to cure it with just a portion of her hair regaining its silver color. Tiera stepped out of the barrier for the first time, and the emotions overwhelmed her. She gives him a letter of introduction to the city as a thank you for saving her.
The New Gate Episode 1 Spoiler: Shin Joins the adventurers guild
When he arrives at the Belricht Kingdom, he uses the letter of introduction to go straight to the adventurer’s guild. Shin then requests to join the guild and uses the letter of introduction to help speed up the process.
He meets the guild master, who also received a letter of introduction from the Moon Sanctum. The guild master explains the importance of the letter and why he must keep it safe. The guild master tests Shin’s abilities and acknowledges his strength.
He joins the guild as a G-rank adventurer and goes to complete his first quest. While gathering herbs, he notices a huge monster and decides to attack it before it harms more people. Despite the monster’s extremely high level, Shin is able to defeat it by removing the limits on his abilities. The episode ends with Shin picking up a gem and the monster’s sword flying into the king’s castle.
