The Arcadian streaming release date could be mid-2024.
Arcadian premiered at SXSW on March 11, 2024. RLJE Films acquired the distribution rights to the film and released it in US theaters on April 12, 2024. The company generally releases its films on streaming platforms within a few months of their theatrical releases. So, we can speculate that Arcadian will likely premiere sometime in mid-2024.
Arcadian takes place in the near future where most of humanity has died out. The plot follows Paul and his twin sons, Joseph and Thomas, as they struggle to survive in the desolate landscape. They live on their heavily fortified farm that protects them from the horrifying creatures that come out in the night. However, when Thomas goes missing, Paul must venture out to find him.
The cast of Arcadian includes Nicolas Cage as Paul, Jaeden Martell as Joseph, and Maxwell Jenkins as Thomas. The movie also features Sadie Soverall as Charlotte and Samantha Coughlan as Mrs. Rose.
Is Arcadian coming out on Shudder & AMC Plus?
Arcadian is expected to be available to watch via streaming on Shudder and AMC Plus.
RLJE Films is a branch of AMC Networks. In February 2024, various outlets reported that the film would come out on Shudder and AMC Plus later this year.
Current Shudder and AMC Plus subscribers should be able to watch the film if and when it airs. The Shudder subscription costs $6.99 per month and $71.88 per year. As for AMC Plus, its subscription is $8.99 per month and $83.88 per year.
Arcadian’s official synopsis reads:
“In a near future, normal life on Earth has been decimated. Paul and his two sons, Thomas and Joseph, have been living a half-life – tranquility by day and torment by night. Every night, after the sun sets, they face the unrelenting attacks of a mysterious and violent evil. One day, when Thomas doesn’t return home before sundown, Paul must leave the safety of their fortified farm to find him. A nightmarish battle ensues that forces the family to execute a desperate plan to survive.”
