The ongoing modern C-drama Best Choice Ever released episode eight on April 11, 2024. It features Xu Kai and Yang Zi as the main characters. The episode primarily focuses on Jia Liang’s family trying to get close to Cheng Huan (Yang Zi).
Jia Liang’s mother visits Cheng Huan’s mother to convince her to talk to Yao Zhi Ming (Xu Kai). She tells her that their company will suffer a great loss if the bidding does not go well. Since Cheng Huan and Jia Liang are getting married, Cheng Huan will also suffer with them. Cheng Huan’s mother promises to talk to her husband about the matter.
Jia Liang’s mother promises Cheng Huan’s brother a job once he graduates. This finally convinces Cheng Huan’s mother. The next day, she pays Zhi Ming a visit to talk to him. Meanwhile, Cheng Huan learns from a co-worker that her mother has come to see Yao Zhi Ming. She gets anxious and rushes to Zhi Ming’s chamber.
Once she sees her mother, she gets extremely angry at her. Cheng Huan is not ready to hear anything her mother has to say. She apologizes to Yao Zhi Ming on her behalf and drags her mother out of the room.
Best Choice Ever Ep 8: Xu Kai gives Yang Zi a promotion
Meanwhile, Zhi Ming does not want Cheng Huan to marry Jia Liang. He feels that Jia Liang’s family is not worthy of a reasonable girl like Cheng Huan. He decides to promote Cheng Huan and make her his personal secretary.
In episode eight of Best Choice Ever, the Mai family gets angry at Mrs. Mai for agreeing to take help from Jia Liang’s family. Cheng Huan’s brother is upset that his mother did not ask for his opinion before accepting their offer.
Cheng Huan takes him out for a meal. The two siblings finally have some time to catch up. Her brother recalls how everyone at the law firm looked down on him because of his educational background. He feels that all rich families are superficial. He asks Cheng Huan not to get rid of her self-respect.
The next day at work, Cheng Huan finds out about her promotion. When she asks Zhi Ming about this, he assures her that he values her as an employee. He tells her that Cheng Huan should not worry about Jia Liang company using them as their company is the dominant party here.
Cheng Huan bumps into an old friend working for Deshan, Jia Liang’s father’s company. She even pressures Cheng Huan and tells her that if they don’t seal the deal, the company will face financial setbacks. Cheng Huan feels helpless and does not understand what she should do. She discusses this with Zhi Ming. He advises her not to stress about this as a family like Jia Liang’s would never value her.
Meanwhile, Jia Liang’s mother and sister discuss how Cheng Huan does not fit into their family. However, they will have to pretend to be fond of her as they still need favors from her, and Jia Liang genuinely likes her.
