Summer is set to be a whole lot of “Fun, Fun, Fun,” as Disney+ has officially released the trailer for its upcoming documentary about the iconic band, The Beach Boys. Available exclusively on the streamer starting May 24, 2024, the documentary will serve as “a celebration of the legendary band that revolutionized pop music.”
Named after the American band, Disney+ is setting up audiences for a “Good Vibrations” with The Beach Boys. A commercially successful band that has sold over 100 million records worldwide, The Beach Boys is perhaps best known for their upbeat, harmonious musical style “that personified the California dream.” Over six decades, the band has gone on to captivate longtime fans and a new generation of listeners.
Formed in 1961, The Beach Boys — which originally consisted of brothers and cousins — have cemented themselves as one of the iconic bands of all time, known for hit tracks such as “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “Surf’s Up,” “In My Room,” “Don’t Worry Baby,” “Caroline, No,” “California Girls,” and more.
Who’s involved in the upcoming documentary?
Directed by Frank Marshall and Thom Zimny and written by Mark Monroe, the upcoming documentary film will delve into the band’s humble beginnings with never-before-seen footage and new interviews with band members Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks, and Bruce Johnston. The Beach Boys will also feature interviews with Lindsey Buckingham, Janelle Monáe, Ryan Tedder, and Don Was.
