Stephanie McMahon made surprising appearances on WWE programming this past weekend at WrestleMania 40 and the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.
Stephanie McMahon took over the role of Chairwoman and Co-CEO in 2022 following Vince McMahon’s retirement due to hush money scandal. While Stephanie was at the top in WWE, her role was short-lived as she resigned in January 2023 when Vince McMahon returned to WWE. Since then, Stephanie McMahon has been absent from WWE until this weekend, when she made an appearance on WWE programming.
Following the sexual lawsuit against him by a former employee in January 2024, Vince McMahon is no longer with WWE. As a result, McMahon had to resign from his position.
However, the latest reports from Fightful Select behind paywall have shed light on Stephanie McMahon’s return to WWE. The reports state that Stephanie’s return was kept secret internally, and the run sheet listed it as a Triple H promo. She was welcomed backstage with open arms.
Additionally, the reports indicate support for Stephanie McMahon amidst the complex situation surrounding Vince McMahon and the lawsuit against him. However, there is no confirmation of Stephanie McMahon’s return to a full-time role in the promotion. Multiple sources express their willingness to welcome her back.
Triple H’s take on Stephanie McMahon’s WWE return
The night two of WWE WrestleMania 40 was kicked off by Stephanie McMahon, who hyped up the fans. After returning to WWE programming, Stephanie’s husband, Triple H, commented on her comeback.
Triple H expressed his happiness about Stephanie’s return in post-show press conferences. He said, “So great to have her back home. I get her home all the time, but to have her back here, to see the doubt leave her by being here for the last few days, to see her confidence come back, and to know that this is her home. All of you, all of us, all this business — it’s her home. And as much as anybody on the planet, she belongs here. And hopefully she knows that now. So, happy to have her back.”
While there are no words on whether she will return once again to WWE programming, fans were delighted to see Stephanie back on screen.
