Dark Phoenix Director Simon Kinberg Talks Deadpool & Wolverine

Former X-Men producer and director of 2019’s Dark Phoenix, Simon Kinberg recently opened up about how he feels about the world of X-Men finally making their way into the MCU.

During an interview with ComicBook, Kinberg was asked about Fox’s X-Men universe potentially entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The filmmaker said he has no clue how it would work in Deadpool & Wolverine and joked that he’d be too scared to answer even if he did.

“It’s a good question because it’s outside of actually being inside the process of making anything. The truth is, with the Marvel movies, if I answer anything, I’m just afraid there’s gonna be a sniper’s little red dot on my forehead, and my children will be fatherless,” Kinberg said.

He went on to praise Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds instead and relayed how excited he was about the upcoming film.

“So I’m just gonna say, I’m such a massive fan of everything that Hugh’s done with Wolverine,” said Kinberg. “I think I made five movies he was in, in one form or another, as Wolverine, and I’m very excited for the film. I know that for him, and for Ryan and for Shawn [Levy], exploring some aspects that perhaps we haven’t explored before, I would imagine is appealing.”

Who’s involved in Deadpool & Wolverine?
